About Ethena
What Ethena is
Ethena is the protocol behind USDe, a synthetic dollar. Instead of holding bank deposits, it holds crypto collateral such as ETH and BTC and opens matching short perpetual positions on exchanges, so the two sides offset each other and the combined value stays close to one dollar. ENA is Ethena's governance token, used to vote on risk settings and the protocol's direction. ENA itself is not a stablecoin and moves freely.
What moves the ENA price
Because Ethena's income comes mainly from funding paid on perpetual markets, ENA is closely tied to how bullish derivatives traders are: when funding is high and USDe supply grows, sentiment around ENA usually improves, and when funding turns low or negative the opposite happens. The total supply of USDe, integrations with exchanges and DeFi apps, fee-switch discussions in governance and scheduled token unlocks are the other things traders watch.
USDe supply as a gauge for ENA
Ethena's USDe grows when traders pay high funding to be long, because that funding is what the protocol collects on its hedges. The supply of USDe is therefore a live reading of market leverage. ENA holders watch it daily: rising USDe supply means more protocol income and usually firmer ENA, while a shrinking supply, as in periods of negative funding, tends to weigh on it. Governance votes on sharing revenue with ENA stakers are the other recurring catalyst. ENA also carries its own supply schedule: large tranches for the team and early investors unlock over several years, and big monthly unlocks have coincided with weak stretches for the token.
ENA on BRVX
BRVX quotes Ethena as ENA/USDT, a synthetic perp. A position gives you no ENA, no USDe and no sUSDe; it tracks the ENA price and settles in your margin. Ethena leverage on BRVX spans 5x to 100x, with 50x preselected. There is a twist for ENA traders: the token lives on funding rates, and a BRVX position also pays funding, 0.0046% per hour for longs now. When funding flips across crypto, ENA can move fast enough to lose you a leveraged margin.

Step-by-step long and short: how to trade Ethena.
Where does ENA trade today?
ENA/USDT is 0.1950 USDT on BRVX, −8.15% across 24 hours.
Is ENA a stablecoin like USDe?
No. USDe aims to stay near one dollar; ENA is the governance token and its price floats freely.
How does USDe hold its dollar value?
Ethena holds crypto such as ETH and BTC and opens short perpetual positions of the same size, so gains on one side offset losses on the other. The shorts also collect funding when rates are positive.
How far can ENA be levered?
From 5x to 100x. ENA reacts to market-wide funding shifts, so ENA positions near the cap can lose the ENA margin quickly.
How much does Ethena move in a day?
10.75% on an average ENA day (30 sessions); peak range 25.6% on Sep 20; 18 up, 11 down. At 50x, 2% against you equals the margin, which you can lose.
What does $100 of margin buy on ENA?
25,648 ENA at the default 50x, or 51,295 ENA if you push it to 100x — both priced off 0.1950 USDT. A loss scales the same way as the position.
What is Ethena's record high on BRVX?
1.2854 USDT, set Jan 7, 2025 — the highest ENA/USDT print since BRVX started recording it on Jan 2, 2025. It now sits −83.71% under that, at 0.2095. The floor so far: 0.0704 USDT (Jul 1, 2026).
Does Ethena move on weekends on BRVX?
Yes. Since Jan 2, 2025, ENA moved 5.22% per weekend day vs 4.58% per weekday on BRVX, either direction. Leverage multiplies weekend losses too.
