About Stellar
What Stellar is
Stellar is a payments-focused blockchain launched in 2014 by Jed McCaleb, who earlier co-founded Ripple, and Joyce Kim. It is supported by the Stellar Development Foundation, a foundation that supports the network. Instead of mining, it reaches agreement through the Stellar Consensus Protocol, which settles transactions in a few seconds at a tiny cost. Banks, payment firms and stablecoin issuers use it to move money across borders and to issue tokens, including a version of USDC. XLM, or lumens, pays network fees and is the minimum balance every account must keep.
What moves the XLM price
XLM has historically moved in step with XRP, since both are seen as cross-border payment coins, so news around Ripple and payment regulation often spills over. Its own drivers are partnerships with payment companies and financial institutions, stablecoin and real-world-asset volume on the network, and upgrades such as Soroban smart contracts. As one of the older large coins, it also follows swings in overall crypto sentiment.
XLM and XRP: the pairing traders use
XLM and XRP share a founder and a use case, so they tend to rally and fall together. Many traders watch the XLM/XRP relationship: when XRP breaks out on Ripple news, XLM often follows with a delay, and when XLM moves alone it usually points to Stellar-specific news, such as a large payment partner, stablecoin issuance on the network or on-chain fund launches. Stellar's USDC volume and the adoption of Soroban smart contracts are the network numbers most often quoted. Stellar also has a fixed supply after inflation was switched off by a community vote in 2019, and the Stellar Development Foundation burned more than half of all lumens that year. Since then, foundation distributions are the main source of new XLM on the market.
XLM on BRVX
Stellar appears on BRVX as XLM/USDT, a synthetic lumen perp funded with any of the six margin tokens, so no lumens move to a Stellar account and no memo is needed. XLM is in the cheaper fee group at 0.05% per side, and XLM leverage runs up to 100x with 50x preset. Funding on XLM is 0.0023% every hour. XLM often moves with XRP in bursts, and XLM leverage near its cap can lose the XLM margin in one of those bursts.

Can I trade XLM on weekends?
Yes. XLM/USDT is open 24/7 on BRVX, weekends included.
What fees apply to an XLM position?
Each XLM ticket pays 0.05% going in and 0.05% going out, and funding accrues every hour. With leverage, a small XLM move can still lose the XLM margin.
Does XLM have a fixed supply?
Yes. New lumens stopped being created in 2019, when the network voted to end inflation, and the foundation burned a large part of its holdings the same year.
How volatile is Stellar day to day?
30 sessions average 6.46% of range, split 15 up and 14 down; the biggest was 13% on Sep 29. Default leverage is 50x, where 2% against you is the whole margin.
How far does $100 go on XLM?
Far enough for 27,211 XLM at 50x default leverage, 54,422 at the 100x cap, all off a 0.1838 USDT price. Whatever multiplies the position multiplies the loss.
Has Stellar made a new high on BRVX?
Its best print remains 0.5198 USDT from Jul 19, 2025, −63.38% above the current 0.1904. The other extreme, 0.1366 USDT on Feb 7, 2026, is the low for the XLM/USDT record that started Jan 2, 2025.
Is Stellar still tradable on Saturday and Sunday?
Yes, around the clock. XLM has averaged 3.06% of weekend movement against 3.03% on a weekday since Jan 2, 2025, and leverage scales either one.
Leverage works both ways: a small move against you can lose you the whole margin.
