Stop loss and take profit

On all 41 BRVX markets you can attach a take-profit and a stop-loss to a position in the order form, before you press Buy or Sell. The take-profit closes the position when the price reaches your target; the stop-loss closes it at the loss you set.

What is the difference between a stop loss and a take profit?

A stop-loss limits the loss: it closes the position if the price moves against you to a level you picked. A take-profit locks in the gain: it closes the position at your target. On a long the stop sits below the entry and the target above it; on a short it is the other way round.

What a stop means for your margin

The same price move is a different share of your margin at different leverage. Before fees and funding.

Leverage works both ways: a small move against you can lose you the whole margin.

Stop-loss and take-profit FAQ

Does BRVX have stop loss and take profit?

Yes. Every position can carry a take-profit and a stop-loss, set in the order form with the «TP / SL Triggers» checkbox.

Does BRVX have limit orders?

No. Positions open at the market price. Take-profit and stop-loss are the only price triggers.

Is the fee different when a stop-loss closes my position?

No. BRVX lists one closing rate per market, and on every market it equals the opening rate — 0.05% on stocks, for example.

Where should the stop-loss go on a short?

Above the entry price. A short loses when the price rises, so the stop sits above and the take-profit below.
