About Circle

What Circle does

Circle Internet Group issues USDC, a dollar-backed stablecoin, and EURC, its euro counterpart. Each USDC is backed by reserves held mostly in cash and short-term US Treasury securities, and most of Circle's revenue is the interest on those reserves. Part of that income is shared with distribution partners such as Coinbase. Circle listed on the NYSE in 2025 under the ticker CRCL.

What moves CRCL

Two numbers drive the business: how much USDC is in circulation and what interest rate the reserves pay. More USDC in use means more reserves and more income; lower US interest rates mean less income per dollar. That makes CRCL sensitive both to crypto activity and to Federal Reserve decisions. Stablecoin legislation, competition from other issuers and changes to partner revenue sharing are the other big factors.

CRCL on BRVX

BRVX quotes Circle as CRCL/USDT. USDC circulates on-chain every hour of the week, and the Circle quote on BRVX updates with it, so weekend shifts in stablecoin supply or crypto sentiment show up before the NYSE opens. USDC is itself accepted as margin, which lets you trade the issuer with its own coin; the position still owns no Circle stock.

Before you open a Circle position

  1. Log in and fund with USDC

Email or wallet sign-in; USDC, the coin Circle issues, is the default margin token in the order form.

  2. Pick between supply and rates

Long if you expect USDC circulation to grow faster than rates fall; short if Fed cuts or rival stablecoins look set to squeeze reserve income.

  3. Watch Fed days

Rate decisions move CRCL quickly. Circle allows up to 100x; before a Fed announcement, keep CRCL leverage small and attach a stop-loss.

CRCL at 100x: a 1% move the wrong way can lose the whole margin.

Circle stock: what is it trading at now?

CRCL shows 79.38 USDT on BRVX, −6.15% versus a day ago. The NYSE is closed nights and weekends; this quote is not.

Is CRCL the same as USDC?

No. USDC is a token built to stay pegged at $1; CRCL is the stock of Circle, the company that issues it, while CRCL's value floats with the market.

How does Circle make money?

Circle opens at 50x by default and stops at 100x. CRCL is a young, volatile listing, and at the default a 2% CRCL move the wrong way consumes the entire margin. Each Circle trade pays 0.05% in and 0.05% out, and 0.0034% of funding accrues hourly on top.
