BRVX Glossary · Double bottom · Updated September 25, 2026
A double bottom is a bullish reversal chart pattern in which price falls to roughly the same low twice, with a rally in between, and then breaks above the high of that rally. The shape resembles the letter W and shows sellers failing twice at one level.
Building the W
- A decline prints a low and rebounds.
- The rebound's high becomes the neckline.
- A second decline stops close to the first low.
- Confirmation comes with a close above the neckline, ideally as activity increases.
Projecting the rise
Add the distance from the lows to the neckline to the breakout: lows at $80 and a neckline at $90 project about $100. A stop below the second low defines the risk.
Early entries
Buying the second low before the neckline breaks gets a better price but a lower hit rate: many W-shapes turn into a third leg down. A second low slightly above the first is read as stronger than one that undercuts it.
On BRVX
BRVX lets you open the long on the neckline break and attach the stop under the second low in the same order. On the 1-day chart of a BRVX stock perpetual, the W may include weekend candles that an exchange chart does not show.
