BRVX Glossary · Order book · Updated September 25, 2026

An order book is the live list of buy orders (bids) and sell orders (asks) resting on an exchange for an asset, arranged by price level, with the size available at each level. The gap between the best bid and best ask is the spread.

How to read it

  • Bids below, asks above; the best of each sets the spread.
  • Depth: the size stacked at each price level.
  • Large walls may act as short-term support or resistance — or be pulled.

How orders use it

A limit order rests in the book until matched. A market order takes liquidity from the best price and walks to the next levels if the first is not big enough; the average fill is worse than the top of book — that is slippage.

On BRVX

BRVX does not run a public order book. Each perpetual is priced from BRVX's own price feed, and trades are market orders with optional take-profit and stop-loss.

Questions about Order book

What is order book depth?

The total size of bids and asks within a range of the current price.

What is spoofing?

Placing large orders with no intent to fill them to mislead other traders; it is banned as market manipulation in most jurisdictions.

Does every exchange have an order book?

No. Some venues quote from a price feed or an automated market maker.
