BRVX Glossary · Liquidity · Updated September 25, 2026
Liquidity is how easily an asset can be bought or sold quickly without moving its price. A liquid market has many buyers and sellers, tight bid-ask spreads and enough size at each price to absorb large orders; an illiquid one has wide spreads and larger slippage.
How to read liquidity
- Spread: the tighter the gap between bid and ask, the more liquid the market.
- Depth: how much size sits near the current price.
- Volume: how much trades per day relative to your order.
- Price impact: how far a given order moves the price.
When liquidity thins
Liquidity drops outside main trading hours, around holidays and in the seconds before scheduled news. Thin liquidity means bigger slippage on market orders and stops, and faster, jumpier price moves.
On BRVX
BRVX prices every perpetual from its own feed rather than a public order book, and trades are market orders with optional take-profit and stop-loss. Quotes on stock, commodity and EUR perpetuals keep moving through weekends and US holidays, when the underlying exchanges are closed.
Questions about Liquidity
What is market liquidity vs accounting liquidity?
Market liquidity is how easily an asset trades; accounting liquidity is how easily a company can pay short-term debts. Traders mean the first.
Is Bitcoin liquid?
Yes, BTC is one of the most liquid crypto assets, though liquidity varies by venue and time of day.
Why does liquidity matter for stop-losses?
A stop becomes a market order when triggered; in thin liquidity it can fill well past the stop level.
