What a Bitcoin perpetual is

Bitcoin is the oldest and most traded cryptocurrency, and its perpetual market runs every hour of every day. A perp tracks the BTC price without an expiry date, so a position stays open until you close it or it is closed for you.

On BRVX you never hold bitcoin itself. You post margin, pick a direction and your profit or loss follows the BTC/USDT quote.

What moves the BTC price

Bitcoin reacts to money flows more than to earnings or cash flows.

  • Spot ETF inflows and outflows in the US, which show up in the price within hours.
  • Interest-rate expectations: cheaper dollars have tended to lift risk assets, BTC first among them.
  • Leverage in the market itself: crowded longs or shorts get squeezed, which turns a small move into a large candle.

Long or short Bitcoin?

A BTC long is a bet that demand keeps outrunning the fixed 21 million supply: ETF buying, a weaker dollar or a halving-cycle rally.

A BTC short bets on the opposite: ETF outflows, a hawkish Fed, or an overheated rally where too many traders already paid up to be long.

Opening a BTC long or short on BRVX

  1. Find BTC · USDT

Open app.brvx.com, sign in with email or a wallet and pick BTC in the pair selector; it sits at the top of the crypto group.

  2. Size the BTC position

Enter the amount in USDC, BTC, ETH, USDT, SOL or BNB. The BTC slider runs 5x–150x with quick presets at 50x, 100x and 150x; lower is safer.

  3. BTC: Buy or Sell

Buy opens a long, Sell opens a short. Tick TP / SL Triggers to set an exit on each side before you confirm; orders fill at market.

  4. Watch funding while you hold

BTC charges 0.0205% per hour on longs and 0.0171% on shorts, so a long held for days costs more than a short.

Leverage works both ways: a small move against you can lose you the whole margin.

When Bitcoin trades

BTC has no closing bell. The BTC/USDT quote updates around the clock, weekends included, so a Sunday-night move can reach your position while you sleep. Size positions for the hours you are not watching.

BTC example: a 5% move

Say you put $100 of margin on BTC at 10x and bitcoin rises 5%. The table shows what that does to a long and a short, and what BTC's fee and funding take off.

Bitcoin risks to know

  • A 150x BTC position moves 1.5% of margin for every 0.01% of price; normal intraday noise can close it.
  • Funding on BTC is charged to both sides and is higher on longs, so time works against a long.
  • Weekend liquidity is thinner, and gaps between Friday and Monday on traditional markets do not protect you here.

High leverage and a market that never closes combine badly for a position left unattended.
