BRVX Glossary · Scalping · Updated September 25, 2026

Scalping is a trading style that aims to profit from many very small price moves, holding each position for seconds to minutes and closing it quickly. Because each gain is small, scalpers depend on tight spreads, fast execution and low fees.

The formula

Net per trade Move × Size − Fees − Spread

When the target move is tiny, costs take a large share of it.

How it works

  1. Entry Small setup
  2. Hold Seconds to minutes
  3. Exit Small gain or cut loss

Why costs decide the result

A scalper targeting a 0.2% move who pays 0.1% to open and 0.1% to close keeps nothing. Fees and spreads are charged on every trade, so they grow with the number of trades, not with profit.

Scalping vs day trading

Both close positions within the day. Scalpers hold for seconds to minutes and trade dozens of times; day traders hold for minutes to hours and trade a few times.

On BRVX

On BRVX the fee is charged on opening and on closing, as a percentage of position size: 0.05% each way on NVDA and 0.1% on BTC/USDT. A scalp on BTC therefore has to clear 0.2% of the position before it makes anything.

For most retail traders it is not after costs; it rewards very low fees and fast, disciplined execution.
