What is different about Good Friday
Good Friday is the odd one out: it is not a federal holiday, so banks and government offices usually stay open, but the stock exchanges close. The date moves every year with Easter. NYSE has closed on Good Friday for nearly all of its history; 1898, 1906 and 1907 are the rare exceptions. Because Easter follows the lunar calendar, Good Friday can land anywhere from March 20 to April 23.
The exchange takes a three-day weekend; BRVX does not. Stock perpetuals keep trading from Thursday's close to Monday's open.
