Jobs report release dates

Nonfarm payrolls come from the survey of employers, the unemployment rate from the household survey; both are in the same BLS release.
Revisions ride along
Each report also revises the two previous months, so the payroll number for a month can change twice after it is first published.

What does NFP mean?
Nonfarm payrolls: the monthly change in US jobs outside farms, private households and the self-employed, from the BLS Employment Situation report.
Is the jobs report always on a Friday?
No. 10 of the 12 2026 reports are on a Friday. The January report came out on Wednesday, February 11, and the June report on Thursday, July 2, the day before the Independence Day holiday.
What time is the jobs report released?
8:30 a.m. ET. In UTC that is 12:30 during US daylight saving time and 13:30 in winter.
What is in the Employment Situation report?
Two surveys in one release. The establishment survey gives nonfarm payrolls, average hourly earnings and average weekly hours; the household survey gives the unemployment rate and the labor force participation rate.
